Encrypted vaults are the standing casket like looking things in the game that you can find by using your ecive (on Playstation it’s the R3 button). They give an audio cue when your descendant scans the world when facing in their direction. The encrypted vaults in the Fortress drop Pure Energy Residue which is used in the crafting of Afterglow Sword Synthetic Fiber, Luna Enhanced Cells, Yujin Stabilizer, and the Ultimate Bunny Spiral Catalyst. In order to open a vault you’ll need to have looted a Code/Precision Code/Ultra-Precision Code Analyzer. These can be found on enemies in the Call of the Descendant missions in each region. Note that not all encrypted vaults will spawn every time. This list will be updated if I find more. If you find a hologram that’s not on my list and want to leave it in a comment, I’ll add it and credit you. 🙂
The Aurora Forest – 3 vaults
Frozen Valley – 4 vaults
Fallen Ark – 7 vaults
Convertor Facility – 2 vaults
Defense Line – 5-6 vaults
Also, you don’t need to know where the green hologram is to find them, but I’ve included them in the photos below (where i saw one) for help in directions and getting your bearings. Also, if you’ve found a green hologram and can’t find the corresponding vault, that will help you narrow down the vault below.

The Aurora Forest Encrypted Vaults
I’ve found 3 holograms/vaults in the Aurora Forest.
1. The first vault in the Aurora Forest is just around from the outpost. When you leave the outpost and enter the main playing area, check the right walls for a cave. It’s in there.
2. The second hologram is up on the Snowy Heights battlefield, but the vault is found in a cave under the bridge.
3. The third vault is in a cave on the southwest side.

Frozen Valley Encrypted Vaults
I’ve found 4 holograms/vaults in Frozen Valley.
1. The first hologram is just down the hill from the outpost.
2. The second vault is below the Vulgus Strategic Outpost on a ledge.
3. The third vault is in a cave along the east wall.
4. The 4th vault is under a platform in the Munitions Loading Dock battlefield area in a little cave tunnel. It’s in an alcove, so look around when you’re in there.

Fallen Ark Encrypted Vaults
I’ve found 7 holograms/vaults in Fallen Ark.
1. Vault #1 hologram is northeast of the Frozen Shipyard mission marker on a platform on the edge. If the vault spawned in, it’ll be in a cave under the main path through the area.
2. The second vault can be gotten either by going into the tactical transporter room and continuing on or by bypassing the TT room and just continuing to head south in the main outside area. The picture below shows the hologram which is past the TT to the south before going inside. The tunnel the vault is facing in the second picture is where you’d come out if you went into the TT room and continued that way.
3. The 3rd hologram is in the center, just across the railing from the Frozen Shipyard mission marker. The vault is under it in a cave.
4. The 4th vault is down in the Frozen Shipyard battlefield area. Inside the room behind the hologram a vault can spawn.
5. The 5th one is in the upper cave to the south.
6. The 6th hologram is also on the east side, near the edge.
7. The last one is on the way to the Quarantine Zone mission. The vault spawned behind some boxes for me.

Convertor Facility Encrypted Vaults
I found 2 vaults in the Convertor Facility.
1. The first vault is up the stairs on the right from the Giant Hanger yard area.
2. The second vault is inside the large round facility. Find the huge gear looking thing on the wall on the west side and the hologram is there. The vault is up on the right. Grapple up to it.

Defense Line Encrypted Vaults
I’ve found 5 holograms, one with a potential to spawn 2 vaults in the same room for a total of potentially 6 vaults. Note that #1 on the map is underground in the base, not up on the snow.
1. The first hologram is in the middle of the snow north of the Destroyed Base mission marker. If i’ve paired this one with the correct vault, you’ll have to go up on the platform and find the stairs that go down into the base. The vault is directly underneath the hologram.
2 & 3. The second hologram has a potential to spawn 2 vaults in the same room. On the Destroyed Base platforms, head over to the east wall and find the hole.
4. Haven’t found a hologram for this one, but this little building is just east of the Destroyed Base mission marker on the map.
5. Another hologram is outside on the north steps. The vault spawned for me to the right (west) side, amongst the anti-aircraft cannons.
6. The last one is inside. The Heart of the Fortress mission is down the west hallway from this room.
