The First Descendant – Hagios Encrypted Vaults

Encrypted vaults are the standing casket like looking things in the game that you can find by using your ecive (on Playstation it’s the R3 button). They give an audio cue when your descendant scans the world when facing in their direction. The encrypted vaults in Hagios drop Highly-Concentrated Energy Residue which is used in the crafting of Enduring Legacy Synthetic Fiber Blueprint, Lepic Enhanced Cells, Restored Relic Nano Tube, and the Secret Garden Polymer Syncytium Blueprint. In order to open a vault you’ll need to have looted a Code/Precision Code/Ultra-Precision Code Analyzer. These can be found on enemies in the Call of the Descendant missions in each region. Note that not all encrypted vaults will spawn every time. This list will be updated if I find more. If you find a hologram that’s not on my list and want to leave it in a comment, I’ll add it and credit you. 🙂

Dune Base – 6 vaults
The Corrupted Zone – 5 vaults
Fractured Monolith – 6 vaults
Forward Base – 5 vaults
Starfall Road – 3 vaults

Also, you don’t need to know where the green hologram is to find them, but I’ve included them in the photos below (where i saw one) for help in directions and getting your bearings. Also, if you’ve found a green hologram and can’t find the corresponding vault, that will help you narrow down the vault below.

Dune Base Encrypted Vaults

I’ve found 5 so far in the Dune Base level.

1. The first hologram is down the first left from the outpost. The vault is on the top of the rock it’s next to.

2. The second hologram is down the second left from the outpost. The vault is on the west ledge.

3. The third vault can be found in a cave to the east of the Fire Void Fragment if it spawned in.

4. The next vault is north of the Fire Void Fragment, near the orange surveillance tower.

5. The next hologram is by the VSO. The vault is in the little underground spot you can see in the picture.

6. The next hologram is at a cave north of the Void Fusion Reactor. The vault is inside the cave.

The Corrupted Zone Encrypted Vaults

I’ve found 5 vaults in the Corrupted Zone.

1. The first hologram is up by the buildings above the Vulgus Strategic Outpost. The vault is down below.

2. The second one is in one street from the VSO. The vault was in the same building as the hologram.

3. The next hologram is by the Crimson Contaminated Area mission marker, on the southwest side of the tall tower. The vault is underneath it. Approach from the red watery side. I don’t have a picture of the vault because it’s just too dark in there.

4. The next hologram is on the northeast side of the same tall tower. The vault is to the south. Walk to the edge of the building and drop down through the missing roof pieces of the next thing.

5. The last vault is in the basement of the north building. The hologram is near the hole in the wall you have to enter to get in.

Fractured Monolith Encrypted Vaults

I’ve found 6 holograms/vaults in Fractured Monolith. Not all vaults have spawned in for me yet, so I’ll update when they do.

1. The first vault is just by the outpost. Leave the outpost and look down from the ledge.

2. Get the Void Fusion Reactor either by crossing the platforms or by going around the long way. The hologram is by the opening to the platforms, and if you came over on the platforms you may have passed the vault on the way.

3. The 3rd hologram is also by the VFR, but to the north. Head down the tunnel to the gate to Starfall Road and if its spawned in, the vault will be back there.

4. The 4th hologram is on the path into the cave north of the tactical transport. As you pass through the arches to enter the cave, grapple up to the right. If it spawned in, the vault can be in that little pass through room.

5. The 5th vault is in the cave that’s north of the tactical transport. Get into the cave and head along the north wall until you see the hologram. Grapple to the opening above the hologram to get into the next room. You may or may not need to go to the end of the room and drop down into another room. Sometimes the vault spawns upstairs, sometimes downstairs.

6. The 6th vault is over on the west side. From the outpost, head around to the west side, staying along the upper ledge. There’s a cave at the end. It’s not the cave that the mission sends you into, this one is right at the ledge.

Forward Base Encrypted Vaults

I’ve found 5 holograms/vaults in the Forward Base area.

1. The first hologram is just outside the Outpost walls on the path. For the vault, take the path down and turn right into the garage and then right again. It’s in the back room.

2. The second one is northwest of the outpost amongst the buildings. You can see both the hologram and the vault in this one picture.

3. The 3rd hologram is at the base of the tower in the Broadband Fleet Beacon area.

4. The 4th hologram is on the other side of the debris from the Antiaircraft Defensive Position mission marker. The vault is inside the battlefield area in a little corner.

5. The 5th hologram is just down from the Vulgus Strategic Outpost. The vault is right behind it in the little alcove. The VSO is behind Valby in this picture.

Starfall Road Encrypted Vaults

I found 3 vaults in Starfall Road.

1. The first vault is east of the Outpost. Leave the outpost and go right. Pass the Special Ops marker and towards the gate. Then turn left to the edge.

2. The second vault is easiest to get through the Ruins Guard Facility battlefield. Head up into the battlefield and on the stone island with the metal structures, turn west and go down the ramp. Drop down to a floating island below.

3. The third vault is up by Old Mystery. From the hologram near the bottom of the steps, head to the west side.
